Expansion Advice

Calling all nerds…. I need help… I have a big problem, I need to find a cost efficient way to “fix” my poorly configured NAS server.

Here’s the dilemma: I have a server with 9 Hard drives: 6x3TB drives, 3x2TB drives, it’s configured to about 66% efficiency beacause I acquired all of those drives over time… long story short, I need to “Temporarily” store 11TB of stuff somewhere.

My machine can only hold 3 more drives without significant modification, and my budget to fix is about $300, which limits my purchases to about 3x3TB drives…

So my questions are as follows: does anyone have any large hard drives laying around that I can borrow?

Does anyone know of any good hard drive deals?

Alright, I’ve been talking about it for a while… I’m “upgrading” my VMware environment to these, which means I’m selling two decent PCs.

1st:
ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
AMD fx 8320 eight core processor
16GB (2x8GB) RAM

2nd
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
AMD FX 8120 eight core processor
16GB (2x8GB) RAM

If you are interested, let me know, as asking price depends on a few things, (whether or not you want it shipped, whether or not you want me to install a hard drive, graphics card, etc.

Intel NUCs

Dear Santa – We work hard all day sharing Brad’s nerdiness with the world, and we really could use 2 of these with 16g of RAM, word on the street is that they run VMware ESXi really well.
Thank you,

DDNS

If any of my nerd friends need DDNS, let me know… my server supports it… I can probably figure out a way to do it with your own domain too. Just let me know.
